Many aging adults reside in New York City alone with family members living in distant cities who are unaware of their actual everyday realities. Neighbors are often the first to see behaviors and activities that suggest a person may be unsafe, at risk, or potentially destructive. These issues often become the responsibility of the co-op board/residence management group to address.
Susan Birenbaum Associates LLC has developed an expertise in working with residential groups to solve these situations so that costly processes like eviction can be avoided and unfortunate incidents do not occur. She reaches back to the family to discuss the situation, become the designated manager of the aging adult, and implement resources to insure their safe and appropriate living in the building or move them to another location. Susan works with Real Estate Attorneys, Property Managers and Co-op and Condo Boards.
